Anyone have any comment, positive or negative, on the use of diagonal frame braces on our rubber cows? Since I am in the process of converting an R65 for use primarily off road I am trying to decide if this would be a modification that would be helpful.
These are what I mean.

Planning on converting to different carbs? Those foamy sock so-called air filters... don't. Would the braces clear Bing CVs?
The original R90S Superbike that dazzled the original AMA races had some serious mods that included moving the engine forward and up in the chassis for better cornering clearance. The chassis also had similar diagonal braces that actually passed through holes cut in the carbs aluminum velocity stacks. The braces were bolted on as those in your photo.
The rubber cow nom de guerre was tacked onto some of the earlier chassis designs from BMW.

That is a picture from the sellers website. I plan on using a clamshell air filter housing and stock intake manifolds, just because they are already sitting on a shelf in the garage. The seller says when installed properly, these will clear the carbs, intakes and fuel lines without a problem.
I don't mind spending a little of my savings if it for a tangible return. I don't want to spend it just for the "golly gee that looks neat" factor.
