Anyone have a recommendation for a source (1979 R65). Are all r65 exhaust nuts the same? Saw an ad for a tool but 79 and older r65's were not included in the list of bikes the tool would fit!

I've had the same wrench for years and used it on several Airhead... including my most recent R65LS.
It is the same as pictured in the link below, but is black. Can't remember the name. I do have to try several spots on the nut to find one that fits best

If I needed one, I would buy this one

My R65-specific Fugowie War Club exhaust nut tool came from San Jose BMW. As the R45-65 engines have smaller diameter exhaust headers, the butterfly nuts are dissimilar to the larger o.d. exhaust headers on other Airheads. The incorrect tool can be used... with caution, so as to not break any of the nut's cast fins.
Be sure to always use a healthy dab of anti-seize paste when refitting to the cylinder head's threaded exhaust stub.

Mine is from Northwoods Airheads. Works perfectly on my 78-79 R65.
