Can anyone tell me if the front wheel from an 85 R65 single shock model is the same as an R65LS front wheel? I know they look slightly different as far as the cast spokes are concerned, the R65LS has 5 spokes that 'Y' into the rim and the 85 R65 has 4 spokes the 'Y' into the rim like a K bike rim. I am more concerned about rim width, tire size, etc.
I am being given the 85 R65 front rim to use on my sidecar so that I have all three wheels the same size and almost the same look. Planning on using a single disk with a mechanical caliper mounted to the sidecar frame.

The rim width is a touch wider on the LS even though the tire size is the same. I would need to check but I'm almost certain it's 1.85 vs 2.15. Disc offset is different and the LS wheel uses ball bearings instead of taper roller.
Edit: No I was wrong. I was thinking of the twin shock R65. The mono has a wider rim than the LS. The specs list it as a 2.5 with a 90/90 tire so it's still a different wheel to the LS.

Thanks Barry. 2.5 for the 85 R65 front wheel vs. 2.15 for the LS front wheel. Doesn't seem like it will be enough difference to worry about.
