Title: R65ls headlight question
Post by: kevin2306 on November 15, 2014, 06:40:53 AM
hi

As part of my refurb of the ls I have just bought, I would like to remove the cockpit fairing ( obviously keeping it safe for future use etc) and fit a more classic headlight set up. I would like to keep things stock bmw and retain the speedo and tachometer enclosure set up.
Any one done this that could give me an idea as to what model is best to source parts from?

Many thanks

Kevin

Had an hour or so fettle get the bmw. Removed the fairing as it needs adjusting if it is to remain.
Can't help thinking the bike looks better without it

So, has anyone got an instrument housing off a standard r65 to sell me?

Nice Find
Is the Gold on the forks and rear drive housing standard for that year or is it something someone did to it.
I have not noticed it on  any other LS's

Hi, the gold is something the po did, it will all soon be vapour blasted off and returned to standard.
Decided to persevere with the fairing too, so some time will be taken ensuring it is fitted correctly.

The  Fairing is what gives a LS its  character  8-)

My  standard R65 draws just as much attention as my brothers fully dressed out   1200GSA does. The LS would really get the lookers
