While installing a new neutral switch and a new ignition switch my bike stopped turning over. Hooked up to a battery trickle charger and I get a full charge sign (battery completely unplugged and with the wires hooked up) and no power to the gauges. Hooked up to a car battery I get power to the gauges and can turn the engine over. What gives? Is this the sign of a dead battery? It's less than a month old.

Never mind. Bad ground cable. Mods can delete this if needed. :P

It is actually a good example of how important it is to check ALL the simple (Cheap to do!) stuff first before resorting to thinking of battery replacement, etc.
It happens to all of us from time to time, and getting a reminder isn't a bad thing!

Nicely played, Derek. [smiley=beer.gif]
"Owning up" to your discovery of a simple -and not too uncommon- electrical issue is good karma. Plus, it may confirm to others what Mike mentioned.
With all the switch wiring disconnects and connects and hooking this to that... blah blah blah, I can just imagine how you felt as you hit the starter button and received "The Sounds of Silence".
