Title: Carb intake tube alignment
Post by: quixotic on April 14, 2014, 07:14:08 PM
Over the past year that I've owned the bike, I've taken the carbs off a few times with no problems putting them back.  But yesterday, after lubing the clutch spline, I did have problems.  I spent an hour on it, but no luck.  The left carb went back on just fine, but the right now seems like it's at least a 1/4" further to the rear than it used to be (relative to the clamshell).  So I can't get the intake tube to fit correctly.  (And I did make sure when removing things to label the left and right tubes).  (And the clamshells seem to be perfectly aligned, both with each other and with the tranny).

I'm totally mystified.  Has anybody seen this happen before? :question :question :question

It looks like you have the boot reversed- the rubber connecting sleeve goes on the airbox.

Wow!  And to think that at one time, I thought of myself as being a rather intelligent chap.   :-?

Thanks Al!  :)
