Hello !
As I have already posted, my '82 R65 bought new in '84 was sold with an RT fairing.
For her 30th anniversary, I decided to ease her old days by removing the fairing. (which by the way was partly rotten and badly damaged)
Doing so I had to re-route the harness and I'm not satisfied with the new routing.
I've already tried a couple of ways, and still no joy.
So I'll be delighted to get some pictures or information about wiring routing near the steering and under tank.
Many thanks in advance !

Here are a few pics of the Dawg's wiring right after I got it...

Those snaps are probably better than anything else you might trip across.
Different coil,VR and a few PO touches but that ain't no biggie.

Hello !
My routing is not that different than the one pictured here for under the tank wiring. I have spent more than two hours trying to devise a proper route above or under the triple tree clamp for the instruments and headlamp. Still too much dragging on the handlebar and a disgraceful spaghetti here ... So if you've more picts of that area, I'll appreciate !

I want a bluetooth headlight and signals.

What area of the wireing are you wanting specificaly? I took a bunch of pics when I did my restoration on my '83. I have several of the harness going around the strearing head, which is prob what you want if you removed the fairing.

Hello !
I would be delighted to get pictures of the front of the bike, seen from under to see the electrical wiring and the routing of the various cables.
Actually a detailed view of the steering seen from front, rear, under, left and right...
As my wiring is dragging, I bet it will break at some time causing electrical problems and even if it is available new, it's far from cheap ... So I hope I can ensure it a very looooooooooong life ::)

Here is what I have. None from the front, because the headlight mounting plate sort of blocks everything from view. I remember it was sort of a pain getting off with the short wires. But this shows the main part of where the cables and wires come around and through.

Thanks for your pictures. I see you've an LS. Mine is different at the headlight support plate which is longer than yours. IT clamps on top and bottom triple tree. I bet it is where my routing is bad.
As I've no time to play I'll wait Saturday to re-route my harness and see what I can get ! your pictures are very informative. I saw I had the brake metal angle support bracket on the triple tree in reverse, so I've changed this.
Do you have a picture of the finished bike ? As in the advert "before and after..."

Thanks. Here is the resto thread. You may have already seen it. I rebuilt it last year. Its a great bike. I love it!
Ive got a bunch of photos of the tear down if anyone needs them for reference. I find my camera phone to be one of the best tools in the tool box.
