Hello !
On my R65 the centre stand should pay a visit to the welder.
Alas, if I can remove the Nylock nuts easily I'm unable to remove the bolts engine side.
Is there a trick or should I remove the engine before ?
I'm puzzled... And as my sore back plays its tricks, leaning that low is difficult...
Thanks for your advices ...

The bolts/screws come right out, I replace mine every 5 years .
The only 'trick' I use to get them out, is to cut down the short arm of an allen wrench ( I think it's a 6 mm) if necessary for clearance .
Then place I believe it's a 6 mm socket on the end of the long arm of the wrench and then place a long (12 inch) 1/4 inch extension in the socket .
It gives you the leverage you need to get the nuts off .

Well, Bob, I've done the grinding of one Allen wrench (yes, it's 6mm). I was able to remove easily the Nylock bolt quite easily. Then it was impossible to remove the screw because it's head hit the engine before clearing the centre stand.
At first I thought that I could grind or saw off some of the screw to increase clearance, but I'll face the mounting problem with the new screw... So I was looking for a trick ?

I don't recall having a problem removing the screws.
Did you remove the pivot bush first ?
That would allow the screw to tilt.

Like Barry said, remove the bushings and centerstand then you should get enough 'wiggle room' to get the screws/bolts out .
-
Bushing ? you say bushings ? Saw no bushing ...
Must clean things a bit ...
How should it get out ? From outside to the engine or the other way out ?
I'm dumb.

The centerstand rides on a large diameter bushing on each side, the bolt goes through the center of the bushing .
The bushing comes out away from the engine .
With the springs removed, the centerstand will usually come right off .
The small lip or flange on the bushing is usually worn to the point that the centerstand will come off without any problems without even taking the bolts out .
