Hello !
My 1982 R64 sat a couple of years at the dealer's shop before I put my eyes on her.
At that time, the French importer offered an RT fairing to help sell them. so I got it with the fairing.
We lived happily 'till last year when I removed the fairing to ease her old age a bit.
Today it's the second time in a week I've to adjust the clutch cable in order to be able to get the gearbox change.
I suspect that the 30 years old cable is going south as the clutch is brand new (around 10 month old and less than 10 000 km).
Looking at the fiche I see there are two version of this cable, one 1386 mm long and the other for high handlebars which is 1495 mm long.
How could I tell if I've a short or long cable without removing it ? How can I tell looking at the handlebar ? what to measure ?

Without removing the cable, perhaps pull the tank -for easier access- and "string" the cable, ie: use bits of tape to secure a heavy string along the cable from the clutch lever to the gearbox end.
Do you have the proper euro bars or them 'merican high ones? The long cable was added to go with the higher bars that many US customers desired.

So I did not change the clutch cable...
Actually, the clutch lever broke when I was going to order the new cable.
The guy helped me to repair the lever (threading the two part and screwing an M6 bolt into them) in order to aid me going back home.
I've instead ordered a new clutch lever and will get it by Friday.
Next week will be a Honda week....
