Title: speedo repair
Post by: wa1udg on June 22, 2013, 03:03:15 PM
Got a problem with my speedo head, the trip meter quit working and an extra 100K got added to the miles driven, just like that..... Is there a rebuilder out there?

One of our members here, wirespokes does indicator repairs .

He's located in the Portland, Oregon area, can't tell where you reside .

Yep, you break em, I fix em!  ;)

Everyone knows the speedometer's are optimistic, but it's not generally known that the odometers secretly resent having to be right on (which they generally are).

I know this because they talk to me ... (ssshhh, don't tell anyone)

But I can make it right, and even service the unit at the same time for the low low price of $95. (sheesh, now I'm sounding like that used mattress salesman that stole my X - didn't seem like a good thing at the time, but now I thank my lucky stars he did)

You guys crack me up. Then again, unfaithful spouses do make for some pretty funny stories. Of course, I didn't think mine was too funny at the time...

Yeah, he was a bed salesman - mattresses, etc. I made up the 'used' part just to make it sound a little sleazier, as if that was necessary!

Never heard of an origami entertainer - that's a new one. The X evidently needed/wanted to be bent over differently.  ::)

Monte - do all your Xs live in Texas?

As a man of less vintage than some of this forum's finer members, let me just say:

I'm taking notes!
