So I pulled my ATE calipers, split them and pulled out the pistons. I have found that I can get new seals, but pistons are no longer available. The pistons I pulled from the first Caliper are pretty ugly.
Now I found that I can get replacement pistons from Motobins at 30 pounds per, but at that price it may make more sense to just find some brembo calipers.
Here is my question. What black Brembo calipers will fit in place of my ATE calipers?

Later model R65 Brembos. Pistons are available for them.

You might want to consider upgrading your master cylinder to the correct size as well. When I swapped my ATE's for Brembo's, keeping the original master cylinder, I ended up with a powerful but wooden front brake.
I eventually changed to a matching Brembo master cylinder. Minor mods to throttle unit required to fit - but not a problem. keeps your twin pull throttle.

F08 Brembo calipers, they come in left and right variations.

So which Airheads used the F08? It seems that the R100 of that vintage used the same caliper, but the BMW part numbers are different. I ask because finding a right sie R65 specific one has been kinda difficult.

I think the F08 is for the rest of the airheads - 81-4? The R65 Brembo is unique for some reason and not used on any other beemers. I don't really understand why the mounts on the slider weren't made to accommodate 'normal' calipers.
