I decided to create an entry for this with shortcuts to the various threads in the tech section:
My Vapor Install, Part 1, by montmil - June 2008 (http://www.bmwr65.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1214087605/0#0)
Vapor Computer Model for R65??, by Tv - June 2009 (http://www.bmwr65.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1246002775/0#0)
And montmil's unique relocation of the oil pressure light - January 2010 (http://www.bmwr65.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1264955502/4#4)
The Vapor 75-704 as recommended by montmil (http://www.trailtech.net/75-704.html)

I really like the surround dash (http://www.trailtech.net/022-PDA.html) offered by Trail Tech to allow for turn signal lights and oil pressure and charge status (required).
It won't give you ALL of the lights offered by the OEM set-up, but they can be mixed/matched (like only one turn signal indicator) so you can have a 'bright lights' indicator and the required charge light.
Then you can install a oil pressure light in the steering stem like montmil did on his.
Neutral is nice, but not required.

I have a question about the Vapor - can you set the odometer to the last known value from your mechanical odometer?
