I'm learning about this bike as I go through it. First motorcycle and first experience at wrenching. Having fun though.
I didn't realize it had 2 different carbs when I bought it - left flat top 64/32/203 and right domed 64/32/358.
Any perceivable problems with running 2 different CV carbs on the bike?
I wrote Tom Cutter from the airheads list to get some parts and he seemed skeptical that the bike was running fine prior to my recent loss of throttle at high speeds (by the way seems that I can only reproduce if hitting 70 mph for about 1-2 minutes). Just wondering if I should bother with the expense of sourcing another carb to match one or the other or just go with what I got. The flat top diaphragm swap out looks like it will be a bit more difficult with that nylon washer.

I would change to a matching pair.
But I would not be in too much of a hurry to do it. I would wait till one or the other pops up on ebay, or the like, at a price that you can live with and then rebuild it along with it other half.
Be patient and you never know, one might just drop in your lap for shirt buttons. Remember - they are sided!

So, which one would you go with? Either/ or?

I'm not sure you can compare jetting and needle postions between 2 different models of carbs so I would take a close look at what the settings for each carb were in their original applications.

I am quite happy with my flap tops, but then I have a 79 - well most of it is a 79.
If your bike is a post 81, then perhaps a set of dome topped ones might be in order? As they were standard.
Or junk the lot ang get yourself a set of mikunis?
