Hi
i am trying to go through this bike and get it squared away before i start really riding it.
The gen light works if I wiggle the wires behiend the tack. can anyone give me an exact color of the gen wire so I can isolate it and fix it ?
The oil and netural light do not work at all, bulbs are good thay both tie into the harness at the same spot cleaned all connections that I can find still no luck.
Can anyone off the top of there head suggest a next step what to check next ?
Thanks for any advice, Tom

The 'GEN' light is the light blue wire that goes to the back of the tachometer .
At the left side of the bike, around the left battery cover, there should be the connector for the wires to the low oil pressure switch and the neutral switch .
Check the wires from the connector to the switches, not uncommon to have these wires lose insulation and break .
You can check the circuits, by getting a piece of bare wire and insert it into the bike side of the connector and bare metal on the engine or transmission .
With the key in the 'ON' position, you should be able to get the lights in the tachometer to come on when you do this to each pin in the connector .
If the lights come on, the circuit is good from there back to the tachometer, if not there is a problem with those wires .

At the 8 pin connector on the tacho the Gen lamp picks up a + 12V feed from pin 6 and connects to the diode board via pin 4.
The oil and neutral lamps depend on the +12v feed from pin 6 so unless they also respond to the "wiggle" your fault has to be with the blue wire on pin 4.

ok thanks i'll look into it today.
