Title: too many motorcycles?
Post by: snakeknuckles on March 24, 2013, 07:00:27 AM
hi- first time posting here. Getting right to the point, i have way too many projects in the works right now. i am zeroing in on one of 2 r65s i have in my shop. i currently have a perfect 1983 LS that i needed dash parts because of a wreck. i found an 82 LS that had everything i needed. The 82 ran well when i got it and looks in pretty good shape overall except for the fact that it is a krylon repaint. should i spend 3-400 finding the parts to make it complete or sell as is? does anybody have an instrument cluster that needs a bike? did bmw use the r65ls cluster on any other model? tx

Welcome!
If you're patient, the parts your seeking may turn up on IBMWR.org, ADVRider, BMWMOA, or Ebay.  I like complete projects and the thought of cannibalizing a limited edition bike like an LS is something I wouldn't do.  The clusters do show up on the above sites.  Let us know what you come up with,
