drove 50 miles today to take my seat in for recovering , i'd rang in the morning , went over after dinner SHUT!!!!! , dont suppose they do good replica seat covers in the us do they? might have a go at fitting myself.
-
Motobins in the UK has replacement covers for 17 GBP .
-
same as the ones at motorworks , wanted something with a bit more quality , cheers tho!
-
I've had a Motobins cover on for several years now and while it's been OK the quality is nothing like as good as the original cover so I think you are right to look for something better. I've only ever seen better quality covers available in the US but good luck and let us know what you find.
Do you have the brown seat ? Bike looks so much better with a black cover so it's really worth doing.
-
was actually thinking of keeping it brown, will you post a pic of your bike please? thanks
-
This is the only photo I have on file of the Motobins cover.
-
to be honest that looks really good! you diy ? i've recovered quite a few seats in the past , but i've an arthritic thumb joint now which gives me HELL ! .
i've taken the seat pan in for stoving , was rusty but sound (needed a blob of weld on a small split) and i'm going to take it to tony archer in huddersfield .(google him) and i can have it just about how i want it for £60.00 , got a week to make my mind up!

Yes In did it myself. The difference in quality is that the Motobins cover is made of thinner vinyl. The pattern is different to the original cover and as the seat foam will have taken a set based on the original pattern that tends to show through a little. Doesn't show in the photo but if I was doing it again I would add a thin layer of new foam.

looks a nice clean bike too, i'll post pics when mines done, the pattern ones dont come with a strap either!
-
No strap and the foam will definitely have a set where that was.
