Title: Clutch Pushrod
Post by: Bob_Roller on July 05, 2007, 02:06:52 PM
Just found a note that I wrote to myself when I was installing my rebuilt transmission. Has anyone noticed that the clutch push-rod on the throw out bearing end is hollow and threaded? Looks like you can thread a screw into it to aid in removing the push-rod if it gets stuck in the transmission. I have no idea what thread size or diameter it is, as I only have an 'American' tap and die set.

I would almost guess there is some sort of factory removel tool that screws in there, but I had not noticed.  I have one out of an R100 laying around and I'll check it out next time I see it.

Given that I've must have changed an airhead clutch a dozen times, I've never noticed that though like Justin said its prob for a factory

Just checked a spare out of an '82 R100RT and it also has a small hole in one end that appears to be threaded.  I'll see if I can figure out the thread size when I get some spare time.
