Unsure if the mounting system would be compatible. Anyone with experience?
How about these from the same seller:

I'm always suspicious of ads that state that "this part fits R45, R65, R80, R100..."
Particularly bag racks since the R45-65s have a shorter rear frame section than the long wheelbase bikes. An R100 rack certainly won't fit an R45-65.
I would encourage you to contact either/or seller and present the wheelbase issue to them. You may catch them out. Buyer beware. :'(

The racks in the pictures will not work for the early R65's. I yours is a mono shock I think they will work. The lower frame mounting flange is 90° from the ones in the picture to work with the R65's up to 1984.

Don, Thread title says it's an '84. Poster may be in England, but not much info from him/her.

I'm in England about half the time. There seems to be a better supply of panniers in the U.K. The bike is in the States (and is a 1984), but I can ferry panniers from England without too much trouble.
Any suggestions for better sources of panniers either in the States or the U.K.?

?
My thinking was that being from a twin-shock would make usability with R65 more likely (though I'd guess a different rack would be necessary).

I like that style bag - I can fit my helmet in one of those but not the earlier Krauser style. I also like the shape and look of those better. But you will need racks for an R65 - the other airhead racks won't fit.
