Title: R65ls pannier mounts...which is which
Post by: blankenship on April 06, 2012, 11:06:46 AM
I'm looking to put some Krausers or Motocases on my LS, and I'm confused about the proper mounts to do it with.

Can someone please post links or photos showing what the best mounts look like?  And maybe identify them by name, number, or manufacturer?  Will the same mounts hold both Krausers and BMW Motocases?

Of course I'd like to avoid the "universal" brackets and get the best/cleanest thing, but I can't figure out what the proper ones are supposed to look like.
(All I know is that they're meant to "tie in" to each other behind the seat...)
The closest I've come is this image...but are these the wrong mounts because they have an extra rear bolt tab? (And is this image of the "Reynolds" mount?)

Those pictured are in fact the Reynolds racks. Good quality heavy duty equipment and stronger than OEM. The empty hole is for mounting an optional rear rack.

The best ones are OEM and the Reynolds. They both accept the luggage of the era. Personally, I like the 80s style BMW bags best (more than the earlier Krausers).
