Besides a pair of brushes, what else do you get for 52.00+ from the BMW dealer's part shelf? Other options for service parts? The price reminds me of the Bing OEM overhaul kit; handful of o-rings and a couple gaskets for way too many bucks... For my 1981 and 83 R65s.
BMW part #12411352541
Nothing wrong right now, but may want to have something on the shelf if n' when needed.

From what I remember about the kit, four brushes, four springs for the brushes, two bearing/bushings for each end of the shaft .
At one time the kit also included one or two rubber parts that sealed the motor housing, but I don't think the rubber parts are available anymore .
I think it's probably the same as this kit from Euro Moto Electrics .

Thanks, Bob. I was on the euro motoelectrics site and flat missed this.

Maybe I'm living in the past, but $19 still seems a lot for four brushes, springs and a couple bushings. Definitely a more realistic price than the dealer!

Maybe I'm living in the past...
I definitely know I was faster, smarter and better lookin' in the past... If memory serves. ;D

Naw, it's just a trick of the imagination. You're every bit as fast, brainy and beautiful as ever! :D
At least I know I am!
