Title: Aped Krauser Panniers

When I purchased my 82 R65 it also came with a set of Krauser Panniers with mounts and the rear rack. The problem is the bags will not close. I think they spent a few years in the cage of the ape that used to test Samsonite luggage - and the ape won.

Anybody have any hints on how to realign the lid and bottom of these boxes?

No key came with them either, but I reckon I won't worry about that until (or if) I can get them to latch proper.

is it the hinges that are sprng? if so, remove them & straighten. i usually place in bench vise & sqeeze.

One of the hinges on one of the bags is not really sprung, but the alignment probably isn't the best.

I am considering drilling out all the rivets on all the hinges so I can place both halves together easier and align from there.
