Has anyone fitted Conti TKC80 tyres on the 65 and if so what sizes did you use , there are a few options!!!! .
-
If you go with a 120 width, it makes things a bit difficult to get the wheel/tire off of the bike .
You need to deflate the tire and I put the center stand on a piece of plywood to get the bike up a bit more, even then it's more work than it should be .
The standard width is a 4.00, that's in inches, don't know why, as everything else is metric with these tires .

cheers for that comment il need to look into sizes and find a size that will fit and work on it .

I personally haven't experienced it, but comments have been made about clearance between the tire and swingarm with some tires in the 120 width .
I have Metzler Lazertecs and the 120 doesn't touch the swingarm, but it's quite close, 3-4 mm clearance .

I think it's true that all the inch width tires are 100% aspect ratio where as the metric widths although they can be 100 % are usually 90% or lower.
Interesting that tires world wide except for a few specialised types have stuck with inches for the diameter.

I've used TKC80's on adventure bikes, but not on an R65. Not bad off road, and much more grip than you'd expect on seal....as good as any road tyre, although at the same corner speed you'd be much closer to the limit on the TKC80. But way more slippery in the wet. Only problem with the TKC80 is the price - no way am I paying that much for a tyre these days.

Thanks guys looks like i need to get my homework done on the sizes as only wont to buy them once .
