Greetings, I'm experiencing a small leak on the left side. It pools on the underside of the throttle spring bracket, and around the upper & lower lip of the carb, which in turn collects on the underside of the float bowl. Traces of drip down on the exhaust pipe. I have installed the following: new OEM gas lines (fabric version), new petcock, new diaphragms, new floats, and float bowl gaskets, and the gasket that goes on the inside of each of the carbs.
I'm thinking about ordering the BAI gas line from BING to see if it line related???
The LS runs really well. But I'm stuck, and don't know where to turn reference this dam leak. So if you have any suggestions or directions please let me know.
Thanks again for all the support everyone has given in my short time as a member, it has most valuable in getting my LS in shape.

When you park the bike, do you put it on the center stand or side stand ?
Is the float on that side adjusted correctly ?

And to add to Bob's questions... do you turn off the fuel when the bike is parked?
You may have a bit of grit between the float needle and the needle seat. Not an uncommon issue.
Drop the float bowl, carefully remove the float and float needle. Check the condition of the beveled end that mates with the float needle seat. perhaps turn on the fuel and flush the gremlins.

And to add to Monte's suggestion, I recommend shutting off the petcock as you are approaching your destination, say 1/8th of a mile or so. That way the fuel level is lower in the float bowls when it is parked.

Vehicle is always parked on center stand, and the petcock is always closed.

FYI - we recently installed new floats and needles in both carbs.
Bob, can you advised the correct procedure to ensure the floats are adjusted correctly. My mechanic put them in, but just make sure. Would the float, if out of adjustment cause the MC to run poorly? The bike is running rather nicely.
thanks

The Snowbum has a couple excellent ways to check / confirm proper float bowl location plus how to check the needle and seat to confirm full fuel shut off at the floats correct set up.

Can get a bit "wordy" but Robert is one of the uber ultra Airhead gurus.
