Title: Luggage clip-ons
Post by: fbenach on August 30, 2011, 01:32:43 AM
I´ve been searching this subject in order not to repeat something that someone has asked before... couldn´t find it so here it goes...

My luggage cases, which came along with my bike, are missing that "clip-on" piece at goes on the back of the case and hooks up at the back of the frame (the piece that looks like a seat belt lock)... which forces me to attach them using bolts... it does hold but it is not as elegant as I wish!!!

So, I saw at www.maxbmotorcycles.com, they sell a bunch of parts that might fit, but is seems they don´t have all the pieces that complete the kits for both cases...

Any idea where I can get them in USA? new or used!!!
I will appreciate any help from the wise users on the forum...

Have a nice one everyone!!! Thanks in advance!!
fdo.

The seat-belt style are often problematic.  Maybe check with motobins to see if something from Hepco-Becker could be adapted.

Do you mean that you are missing this part (which bolts onto the luggage mounts/frame)?

Or are your bags missing the part that this plugs in to?

Hmmm.
Well, you can post something in the www.IBMWR.org/market forum under "airheads-Parts Wanted" and check the For Sale sections, troll ebay - there are a number of airhead used-parts sellers/bikw wreckers there - including Larry Chabira (ebay handle is lamontsanfurd) from Texas who is reputable.   You can also contact/try  the re-psycle folks:   http://www.re-psycle.com/default.asp

And perhaps motobins over in the UK - they sometimes have stock that no one else does.

I think that you'll have to do some drilling and/or riveting to replace missing parts on your bags - can you post a pic of what it looks like now?
Maybe someone will have some smashed up bags but with good rear latches they may give you that might be "transplantable".
