Title: Braided stainless brake lines

Have some free money burning a hole in my pocket. Need your source for vinyl coated stainless brake lines for my hi bar '82 R65LS. was gonna order these http://www.helusa.com/ for $147.00 is this price in line? I've been begging BOB's BMW for a quote for months but they have me on ignore.

Looks like they list for $143.95, so that's pretty well in line.

the mohawk helmet attachment are gay, now covering your bike with pink leopard fake fur! that is cool. ;D

I pulled the trigger and ordered the carbon look lines. The local autoParts Emplorium has a MightyVac fo $30. Heard lots of good things 'bout these little brake bleeders. Anyone use one / like it?

mighty vac, i never had one. though bleeding the brake on mine was pretty easy being there was really nothing for it to hang up on. do share when you use it, may have to get one for those just in case cant get them the regular way or need it now type of thing.

Post by: Bob_Roller on June 09, 2007, 09:21:26 PM: Rich, I've used a Mityvac for about 20 years, and they work good, only problem is that unless you put teflon tape on the threads of the bleeder screw, you will get air bubbles from around the threads. If you get brake fluid into the pump, it's pretty much destroyed. I put a 6 foot length of hose from the container to the pump, pretty much eliminates that problem.

Post by: MrRiden on June 09, 2007, 10:25:50 PM: Thanks for the tip Bob. I have a vague memory of destroying my brothers (an A&P mechanic) mighty vac many years ago by sucking some fluid into the pump but it all seems so hazy, maybe it never happened (in case he sees this).
