Title: Disc brake pad reminder me
Post by: montmil on August 28, 2011, 12:19:46 PM
Senior moment. With weeks and weeks of 100+ degree days, what's left of my brain has gotta be cooked to a well done level.

Are the EBC disc brake pads for the R65's Brembo calipers the FA77 item?

Gracias...

No, the FA18's are for the Brembo calipers.

I think the FA77 are for ATE calipers .

You can alter the FA18's to work on the ATE's, but you can't make the FA77's work on a Brembo caliper.

It's FA57 pads for ATE calipers.

BTW roughly how many miles can be expected out of a set of pads.

I got about 50,000 miles out of the OEM pads on my '81 R65 .

I was told that the EBC FA18 pads, expect around 35,000 miles due to it being a 'softer' compound .

I've got at best 10,000 miles on the EBC's now.

I bought mine from Spiegler - Carbone Lorraines & they work great.

Wow

I put a new set of EBC on 6000 miles ago and they show almost no signs of wear. I have another new set of EBC kevlar pads on the shelf which are already many years old. Perhaps I should sell them now and buy a fresh set if and when I need them.
