Any one used Timeserts?
Research revealed some interesting info on this thread repair option.
I have used HeliCoils in past. With various amounts of success depending on curcumstances. Sometimes having to take to shop for weld & rethread.
Considering using Timesert for repairs to internal threads for valve cover studs.
Tech info for Timeserts here: http://www.timesert.com
TIA

I have no experience with these inserts, but I would prefer them over heli-coil inserts, as I have seen a lot of heli-coils have the first thread start to come loose and bend inward. Nice find ! I've copied their home page for future reference.

Very good find !
I had heard of them, possibly a year or so ago, but couldn't recall the name.
They do appear to have advantages over the old HeliCoil product - I've bookmarked
that web page too !

I have use keensert's sold by Lawson supply co at work for years on rotating equipment, they work very well, the locking system is a little different than timesert's

Highly recommended on the Airheads list from time to time. I've used lots of Helicoils on Britt stuff with only temporary results. Buy the ticket take the ride & let us know the result. Weld & rethread has never failed.
