What is the proper torque for the 6 M6x25 bolts that hold the clutch on?
I'm using the Clymer manual to do this and it said 23Nm. I tried that twice and snapped the head off two bolts.
I know this is sort of a general manual for many years...maybe the R65 uses smaller bolts?
This project has been stalled and I was finally making progress... :(
thanks

I think that the 23 ft-lb figure is for the M8 bolts which are used on the later version "clutch carrier" design. I seem to think that the proper figure for the M6 bolts would be in the 15-16 ft-lbs range, someone may likely correct me - I've got to figure this out eventually too as I've got a 78 R100 that has the similar older-style clutch, too.

I did a little searching...which I should have done first. This apparently is an undocumented spec. I went out and found a sheets of specs for various bolts and hardware grades on the google. I ended up using 10Nm which is about 7.5ft/lbs. Seemed a lot better.
