Does anyone have advice regarding the above mentioned? both have come loose in the last month, luckily i had earlier applied graphite lube 2 the left carb cover or i would have had 2 pay $300 for a tow. is it time 2 replace them? Is there any other reason they are coming loose?

Do you mean the nylon rings that fix the diaphragm to the piston on flat top Bings ?
Those rings were not originally available a a separate item nor was the diaphragm. You were supposed to buy the whole piston and diaphragm # 3 and it is still listed as a whole assembly by Bobs BMW. They do say you can fit a separate diaphragm but add the following cautionary note :-
Dismantling and installing of the diaphragm must be done carefully to avoid damaging the retaining ring which is not available separately!
They are usually a reasonably tight fit and some gentle heat is advised to remove and refit. A few people here have replaced diaphragm on flat tops so maybe someone found a source for the ring.(http://)

I don't know of a source in Australia. I called the Bing Agency USA and ordered mine on the phone. I am sure an email will get similar results.

I would recommend dipping in very hot water before fitting, ive had mine on and off quite a few times without a problem doing that.

If u all advice heat to get them on and off then mine need replacing, they pop back on with little resistance.
Thanks for your help chaps.
