Does anyone have a source or substitute for the gas cap gasket?

They are still available from BMW, I replaced one last year for about $10US,  if I remember correctly .

If yours is still an original flat type gasket make sure you get a modern twin lipped rubber one from a later model R series. There are only 2 types of cap but the seals are the same on both as far as I know.
