Title: fork oil

I weigh about 200 and have progressive springs in front.would 10 wt.oil be too thick in the forks?

10wt oil will work, I don't think I'd go too much heavier than that .

The last time I bought fork oil (7.5wt) at the local BMW dealer the parts person asked if I wanted 7.5 or 10wt oil .

So I guess that BMW has OEM 10wt fork oil .

Right at 195 pounds .

I replaced the OEM fork springs with Progressive springs, currently use the 7.5wt oil, and the front suspension feels a bit 'harsh' at lower speeds, but fells great at highway speeds .

What type of tire pressures are you using ?

I've experimented with pressures and found for my liking, 36-40 psi front and rear .

Whatever make of fork oil you get it helps if they have a good range of viscosities. Then if you put 7.5 in and find it's too light you can siphon some off and add the appropriate amount of say 15 to get any viscosity you want in between.

I did this mixing 5 and 10

I'm @210 lbs and have the progressive springs and 7.5W (mixture of Honda 5W and 10W) in the forks, about 230cc.    It is a little bit stiff on slow speed/big bumps but is wonderful once the throttle is opened up a little bit and stable feeling on highway.
