Title: Installing running turn signals..How to?
Post by: unibober on January 08, 2011, 02:50:44 PM
Ok. So I bought some stealthier alloy turn signals that are 3 wire(1=blk\wht stripe, 1=blk, 1=red) and are also dual element so I can possibly have running lights...maybe. Thought they would be a mindless install but alas they are not. I have them wired so they work as blinkers so they do work, but how do I work my wiring to have them also as running lights? Anyone?

One wire needs a switched power source, one that is powered when the ignition switch is in the "ON" position .

For the rear turn directionals, the power for the tail light can be used .

On the front, about the only quick source, would be the 'running' light under the main headlight bulb .

So.. the bk\wht is ground to the brown, red to the blue\red for left, and blue\blk for the left and the additional black(running) to a wire on the rear taillamp. Correct?  Wonder..which..one.

The wire in the tail light that should provide a running light should be grey with black on it.
Just attach the 3rd wire to that, I would think.
