I've got new Mac Whispertones arriving tomorrow so in preparation I removed my headpipes today for a cleaning up. Of course the crossover was a mess -- one side had both tabs for the clamping bolt broken off, and the other broke off upon removal.
I found these clamps online, and can have some tomorrow as a local Harley shop says they're placing an order from the supplier today anyways. 1 3/8" = almost exactly 35mm.
Since my crossover is cleaning up nicely, I'd like to use chrome clamps as opposed to just hose clamps. Think these would do the trick?

Ben,
If you're going to use clamps...have you looked into stainless steel instead of chrome?

Lou, it looks like 88425A is the 35mm version for R45/65. The photo you posted seems to be the larger 38mm/40mm version?

I haven't -- I'm figuring the chrome ones will last until I tear the bike apart for a full rebuild, at which point I'll likely do brand new headpipes and all SS hardware...
Hell, for now I might just do the hose clamp thing. I'm also considering painting my crossover with high-temp silver or black POR-15/20 paint. I have both colors handy and am finally thinking that the crossover isn't getting as pretty as the headpipes. If I do that, hose clamps are kind of a no-brainer as I'd already be deviating from the all chrome stock look.

T-Bolt Clamps are very nice. They are SS, they work like a hose clamp, but are much stronger!
I hope this link works. I can't view "shopping" at work...

And Electrolux vacuum extension tubes can be had for cheap at dealers (ask for the broken ones).
Cut to length and add compression slots. I.D. is perfect.

Yep, I'm familiar with T-Bolt clamps from dealing with my brother's old supercharged Mustang.
Electrolux vacuum extension tubes eh? No $@*#! You learn something new every day.

The 'T' bolt style clamps should be available from your local hydraulic hose supplier. They may be cheaper if they are not being sold as a motorcycle specific product.

I use these for the header pipe to muffler clamp on my R65s. Clamps up very snug and no rust. Me likey!

When my Dad and I got the R65, the crossover pipe was welded into place. ::)
The exhaust was a ***** to remove because of this.
