Title: Engine Removal Part 2
Post by: Nice_One_Son on September 18, 2010, 02:33:18 PM
Hi All,

Well, it's been a big day today, engine is now out and the wiring loom has almost been stripped out.

I got in contact with the original owner of the bike who is n engineer and he helped me get the engine out. It sure is going to be fun putting it back in, now I understand the part about lots of covering tape on the frame... :-?

Next up will be the bars, switchgear and then the front end.

Cheers

And your shop helper brings you tea or coffee or...?

After painting the frame and ready to refit the engine, that's when the tape will be appreciated.

Carefully check the status of your centerstand mounts and pivot bolts while you've got everything this far apart - it is MUCH easier to fix up anything necessary in this condition (such as possible welding, bolt replacement (use the proper OEM or hardened bolt replacement (Grade 8, I believe)).
