Title: New timing chain = no noise
Post by: dav on August 07, 2010, 05:44:27 AM
Just fitted (well the old man did) a new timing chain, & what a difference it made in the noise department.

We gave the R65 a good major service (i did the valve clearences [smiley=thumbsup.gif] & all the fluids) the old man did the timing chain & carbys. We have been meaning to change the timing chain for a while as the rattle was very loud.

Here's a few vids of before & after.

Dav, much quieter the second time around.  Congratulations on the upgrades.  I need to replace the timing chain on the R90 one of these years since I'm getting a jumpy reading on the flywheel marks when I strobe it.

Did you powder coat the engine?
