Was just wondering if there's a 'Cheaper' solution to replacing front disks.
With Double front disk, EBC route will offset me by +/- $500
Coulld be more expensive if original parts were ordered.
I would like to just pop the old disks out of carrier and put new ones in.
Any suggestion or advice?

Gonna be a tuff nut.
Double EBCs will be very nice and less bucks than OEMs. Only other option would require a patient, and perhaps quite lengthy, search for near-new OEM discs from a breaker.
My understanding is the OEM discs cannot be turned. :'(

Folgore, how many miles on the bike? How frequent do most people change the pads? I've only had to change one disk, a rear on Mrs. Phorqs R1100R at about 50K, and that because the PO had neglected to change pads on a timely basis.

Speigler will put semi-floating stainless discs on the original carrier, or hub, but not a better deal cost wise, they are about $240 for each rotor .

we're nearing the 50k mark, and I was just planning ahead in my service schedule.
If my memory serves me well, the front pads were replaced about 15k miles ago.
I understand that until you start noticing tiny cracks on the drilled wholes, the disks are still ok.

The rotors are considered worn out, when they get to .180 inches thick .
I have an LS, that the previous owner had the rotors machined to remove the heavy grooving, the thickness at the edges where the pads don't contact, were .140 inches thick .
I found between both rotors, 13 cracks that ran between the holes in the rotor .
With the grooves that were present on the rotors, there were areas where the rotor was no more than .040 inches thick .
I would check the thickness of the rotors to determine whether they are worn or not, factor in the groove depth as well .

Cheap compared to any other alternative I found.
If anybody tries these, please post your experiences.
Personally, I went with a good used OEM rotor when one of mine warped.

Cheap brake parts.
Why does this sound like false economy?
I ran my discs grooved for a long time. Then Bob Roller mentioned someone having the EBC rotors on sale [about 3 years ago] (who was that, Bob?). I snatched one up. I noticed NO improvement in braking. And I had no complaints before I replaced it.
This is what my old one looked like. The picture really doesn't do the grooves justice. They were deep! But I don't have a micrometer, so I couldn't measure them.

Rob that was me that got the EBC rotors the same time you did from Bike Bandit .
I too haven't noticed any improvement in dry braking, but wet braking is greatly improved .
Also the EBC FA18 graphite pads don't produce brake dust that makes the wheel look pretty grungy, and is a pain to get off on the snowflake wheels .
