Title: Recomendations for quiet silencers
Post by: Barry on July 16, 2010, 01:02:28 PM
I have original BMW Zeuna silencers fitted. One is in excellent condition but the other is holed and needs replacing.  I've been living in hope that a good original would come up on ebay. I'ts not going to happen though is it, they must all be rotten by now.

I've heard some replacements that resonated so loudly on hard acceleration that I couldn't live with them. Can anyone recommend after market sets which are at least not too much louder than the originals.

I have a pair of pattern silencers from Motorworks. They fitted easily but are amazingly loud. A bit disappointing for a BMW!

I have aset of Busso Decibel mufflers on my '81, got them off of eBay here locally .

I think they are made in Italy, but not certain about that .

They sound just like the OEM mufflers .

Don't know how widely available they are .

Thanks guys I'll keep a look out for the Busso ones and I know to steer clear of the ones from Motorworks.

Thanks Lou

I didn't know Armours did BMW silencers. £195 a pair for stainless is a very good price.
