Hi Gang,
Spent 1/2 an afternoon yesterday on R65LS. Had a gut level that a needle bearing or two might be missing - we pulled rocker arms and sure enough on the last one, one needle bearing is missing.
Do I need to go and buy a complete assembly or is it feasable to get a hold of one bearing and put it where it belongs?
Bought a new ignition switch - are there any posted pics of which wires go where? We have a Clymer's service book but the schematic is pretty vague.
I plan to bring bike home this week and will post pictures of more questions as to what goes where - all electrical questions.
Getting closer but then . . . sometimes I feel like dropping it off at a shop and saying call me when it's done!

There is normally a small gap when all of the needles are pushed together .
If you can extract one needle from the other bearing and see if you can get it to fit, most likely you can't .
You're not the first to have doubts about this .

I don't know if the '79-'80 models had needle bearings, but if they do, I will have a spare if you need it.

There is no doubt that I'm missine one needle bearing. We checked all four and the last one came up one short.

Then I guess you need to get a replacement needle .
Unless you get just the needle from someone that has some, you're only other course is to purchase a bearing .

I have a wrecked engine with all sorts of miscellaneous parts. NBD.

Rob, my '79 has needle bearings in the rockers so most likely the one you have will too.

They have already been dropped in the mailbox to Ken! :)
