Lou, from what I can make out of your picture your vacuum takeoff is the same as mine except much shorter. It doesn't look to be flush to the carb body though so maybe you can still push a tube on.(https://bmwr65.org/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bmwr65.org%2Fhtdocs%2Fyabbfiles%2FAttachments%2FCarb_Vac_Port.JPG&hash=e42c279b065edcd2d7130ad9eaf177115257c323)

It is longer than i remember about 1/4 inch, i did have a lot of trouble trying to adapt something to it when i first did the rebuild but gave up and tweaked it then the "manual" method anyone else's this short??

Just measured mine with some calipers and they are 6.0mm dia and 8.5mm long.
To make sure my tubes stay in place I have some 10mm copper compression ferrules which slip over the ends of the plastic tubes to help ensure a tight fit on the vacuum takeoffs.

No -- that looks really short! I wonder why. What is the part number stamped on the side of the carb?
With the part number in hand we can jump to about any conclusion.... :D
