can i fit springs to my carbs, they are 64/32/353 to help with the idle as it is still revving a little high when im slowing down , this may help a little .
also can i remove the carb cv slide , it moves freely but would this make any difference . ie make revs come down quicker

I think the problem might be with your BeanCan. It has advance mechanism in it and the weights might be sticking. Try spraying some WD40 in there and that might help. There are lots of threads in here on the same problem. Hope this helps.

A light oil or grease may be better than WD-40 as the "do all" spray will soon evaporate.

WD40 has a tendency to turn into a sticky varnish like material after the lighter components evaporate, I would try another lubricant .
I don't know if you have LPS products available in the UK or not, LPS 1, LPS 2, LPS 3, are good general purpose aerosol lubricants .
