My nephew's Suzuki GSXr750 has small stubs sticking out of the swingarm for a paddock stand.

I'm not sure where you could mount such things on a BMW.  I will try and get you some pictures.

Or, you could have it pivot off the foot-pegs, as in this scale model:

Depending on your muffler configuration, you could possibly install some long nuts on the shocker bottom mounts to use as the support/pivot points.
I made a paddock stand for a Ducati Supersport from an old supermarket turnstile and it fits under the swingarm. It is very stable and easy to use, I can even move the bike around on it if necessary.
The bottom shock mounts are in the same location on each side of the BM so they would work fine if you have a high or short muffler(s) on your cafe racer.

I use a upside down beer crate.

Yo, Hawk

How about posting a pic of an English beer crate? In the Colonies, our 24-pack beer "crates" are made of cardboard. Might be something like our "now out of stock" heavy wire milk crates I used as a pit stand for the Yamaha and Penton/KTM MXers.
