Title: Glue
Post by: BooG on April 20, 2007, 12:25:54 PM
My reflector on the left fork fell off. I had used a hot glue gun to stick it back on, but the glue strikes me as being a bit brittle for the job when its cooled down. Any ideas??

I have found that clear silicone works great in situations like this.  People tend to forget that it is not just for sealing up leaks!  But, make sure you get the "sealer/adhesive" type, as I have seen some of the strictly sealer types that don't seem to adhere to the surfaces as well...

Yes, I'd agree - find a tube of clear silicone adhesive/sealant that says it will adhere to plastic and metal
on the container.   I'd also clean up the area where the reflector needs to be glued back in with
an old toothbrush and some isopropyl alcohol - it will remove dirst and grease and evaporate quickly
leaving you a cleaner surface for the silicone to stick.
