My shocks needs replacement.
I have found Hagons from Motorworks and Betor from Motobins.
Same price, @£100 ex.VAT.
Hagons seems well liked. Have somebody tried Betor?
Thanks

I know Bengt Phorqs Mike has just fitted Betors on his... Yamahammer Trials bike. ;D
Think he finds them quite satisfactory while bumping over curbs in front of his house. He's at work right now so probably won't see this post... sure. How's the coffee, Mike?

Let me tell you, Wolfgang Puck makes a good cup of coffee! And, one of the emoluments of working for a robber baron oil company is that vendors always ply us with food so I'm about to bite into a scrumptious piece of King cake!
Haven't tried out the Betors yet, but they are trials specific. I did buy Hagons for the R65 and was amazed at the change in performance. Lots of folks have gone to IKON (Koni spelled backwards) and like those. But Dave Quinn at Hagon was really very helpful and I thought the shocks were a good value.

My old Pursang has Betor suspension. I have had good experience with Progressive shocks and springs, which can be found on eBay for about $200 for a pair of new rear shocks. Search for 13" Progressive Shocks and cross reference the numbers from the Progressive site. I called Progressive and they suggested their standard springs unless you are riding two up with luggage. I weigh 170 lbs. If you are 220 you might consider the HD springs.
The rain has stopped on the West Coast and it is supposed to be in the high 70's this weekend, so I guess it will be time to go for a ride and check out the storm damage in the hills...

Watch out for possible mud washed into your path. Don't need any unplanned Adventure Touring ;)

Sent an eBay email to the seller asking who manufactures the shocks and country of origin. Will post up if I get an answer back via eBay. They are pretty spiffy lookin'
At today's exchange rates, about $87.52USD plus shipping.

I just installed progressive 412's and I love them. Its like night and day.

Thanks for Your advice.
Hagons and some other parts are know ordered from Motorworks.
If only the snow ans cold will disappear, then I could start my R65.

No answer yet. Hum.

I put a Works Performance shock on my '85 R80, and liked it quite a bit. My R65 came with a pair on it and they seem to be doing well, even though a) they probably have a ton of miles on them (the bike has 170k, don't know when the PO put these on) and b) I outweigh the PO by a solid 4 stone. (I don't want to give away too much, but the Brits will know what that means. :) )

Hey Chewey, are you running the standard or HD springs on your 412 Progressive shocks? And did you also install new fork springs to balance everything out?
Steve
-
HD's as I am 230lbs And yes I installed the front springs as well. I love the new handling. I also went back to stock tire sizes 90/90 front 120/90 rear
-
ebay the ohio ones are 13.25" c to c 440lbs springs rate. 62.00 and 20.00 shipping

Did anyone here ever try a set of these inexpensive Ebay shocks?
If so, how did the transaction go, and what do you think of them?
And, 13 inches is the standard shock length on the R65, isn't it?? The ones on John's Britta seem to be less than that, although she pretty clearly wears the originals.

Steve, My questions to the vendor have gone unanswered. The eBay shocks might be OK or they might be total junk. If the seller resists providing product info, I'll take a pass on 'em. Monte
