Title: R65 Tank length.
Post by: Semper Gumby on February 16, 2010, 09:20:00 AM
Could sombody put a tape measure on an early R65 tank for me - I'm on the road.

I need the distance from the front lip of the tank down through the tunnel to the back lip of the tank.

Thanks in advance,

Bill

Bill

I make it 21.5" from front lip to rear lip. Someone else should measure as well to check.

My 1983 tank measures 23" in a straight line from front to back tank lip (flange) to lip (flange) - 23.5" with tape measure following curvature under tank along tunnel.

I measured a straight line and did not follow the curvature. I think 78 - 85  tanks should all be the same size even though the seat changed in 81.

22 1/2" from rear seam to the furthest forward on the front mount.

21 1/2" to the rear-most portion of the front mount.

Measured through the tunnel.
