UPS just delivered my rebuilt brake rotors from Spiegler Performance .
Hubs were glass bead blasted .
Look good so far, the rotors are held on to the hub by large head allen bolts, the original rivet holes are drilled and tapped .
Completely rebuildable by an owner probably in about 15 minutes each .
Not going to install them, until I get new tires and tubes installed first, in about two weeks, when I'm on vacation for five weeks .
-
Five week vacation?
I hope they call you the day before it is over to remind you to come back!
-
Believe it or not, I'm ready to go back to work after five weeks !
About the only thing I have problems with, is remembering the umpteen passwords for computer access .
I write them down, and keep it my tool box at work, or I will forget what they are, they expire every 90 days, so you don't keep the same ones for very long .
-
It's a bitch sometimes when they change passwords frequently. Whilst in the military our stock system changed passwords weekly and no password was allowed to be repeated. aaaaaargh.
>:(
-
I bumped my head and forgot all my passwords, telephone numbers even the number of the house I live in.
Also lost credit cards etc in the accident .... try applying for new ones when you can't remember your address, phone nuumbers etc......
-
Hey Bob, Pictures please!!
Did you buy their brake pads or are you still using the BMW pads?
-
I got 2 sets of EBC graphite pads, FA18, off of Craigslist for $30 a week after I got the bike, so hopefully they will work on these rotors .
Sorry, no pictures, never got around to getting a digital camera, let alone, how to post them !

OK...what did I miss? 8-)

Bob were the rebuilt disks available in Canada as a kit. The originals were riveted with very little clearance to the fork leg, bolts not going to be a problem. Mine needs replacing as the rotor has a couple of small cracks that must be addressed before spring.
-
You send the rotors to Spiegler, and they do all the work at their shop .
Once it's done, the owner can replace all of the components as necessary, with common hand tools .

Justin can't comprehend, that someone these days doesn't have a digital camera, let alone how to post pictures .

Luddite! [smiley=wink.gif]

I know how to post pictures but nobody has given me a digital camera.
-

Sorry, couldn't help myself... [smiley=evil.gif]

Nobody has given me a cell phone yet either.
Actually my buddy wanted to get me one on his plan but I refused, as I don't want to be that available. I told him I would keep it off unless I wanted to call somebody.
I do love email and on line forums though.

Ed, I'm with you on this leaving them on makes the battery run down - always being told off for not having my phone switched on in fact I only have one at all because they gave it to me at work.
Handy out on the road though.
