Anyone know of a source for a nice 2 into 1 exhaust for the R65LS? I think Luftmesiter used to make an attractive black one.
I have also been told you can drill out the first baffle in the mufflers accessed from the rear. Is there more than one baffle?
I suppose there may be other means of getting a more throaty sound. Let me know if there are alternatives out there.

MAC Exhaust used to sell a black ceramic coat 2-1 for the R65 (also had one for the R80/100) but they have not carried it for quite a few years. They still sell a chrome version, or at least they still did as of last year.
Just be sure that you get system for an R65 (has smaller diameter headers than the R80/100)

Snowbum's site has some good info for drilling holes in Airhead silencers to make them louder. It won't be R65LS specific but they are all pretty similar in construction.
Most pattern copies of BMW silencers are louder than stock, I have a set which are so loud I've taken them off until I can devise a way of fitting a baffle to quieten them down a bit. They are made by a Brituro.

I would actually consider selling (Or perhaps trading???) the 2-1 system that is on my bike now. It is plenty throaty. After my 1100 mile trip to Toronto & back I have finally come to the conclusion that I prefer quieter pipes. Pipe is very clean, if you have an equally clean oem pipe I may very well trade straight up???
Let me know if you want pics.........
