Hello all-
So it looks like I may have found some factory hard bags for the R65LS; however a friend of mine pointed out a potential problem..... I have an aftermarket 2-1 exhaust that seems to possibly sit about an inch higher than the original Exhaust. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE MEASURE THE DISTANCE FROM BOTH THE CENTER OF THE REAR AXLE (RIGHT SIDE) TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BAG. AND ALSO FROM THE SEAT FRAME RAIL (THAT THE SHOCK BOLTS INTO) STRAIGHT DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BAG? Though the exhaust is a bit too loud for my taste and I plan to change it soon anyway, I would really like to get these bags on and use the bike for an upcoming trip.
ALSO, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE "MOTORCASE" & "TOURING CASE" BAGS? (46542300059) vs (46542315185)
Thanks-
Fissel the Missile
PS-------I can post a pic of the exhaust tomorrow.

The part numbers you refer to are for the motocases and touring cases shown here.

Several types of hard cases evolved and were manufactured to fit the pannier frames shown on this fiche. I have 2 earlier sets of panniers which differ from those shown here and those in your earlier post, so I've no idea if the measurements you ask for would be helpful or misleading, I'm afraid.

I am 90% certain these bags are the "Touring Cases"

For what its worth here are some pictures of some similar bags that were on the R65LS I bought for a cafe project. It doesn't have the top rack but the panniers and carrier look the same. You can see how close they come to the stock exhaust and both bags have burn damage on the bottom.
