There are two holes drilled in the main engine casing one near the dip stick and one on the opposite side in a similar position.......im getting a slight oil mist appearing around it ??? there's no loss of power or anything else the oil level doesn't seem to be dropping so should i be worrying about it ?

They are drain holes for the starter "cavity". Possibly your crankcase breather hose (which runs through there) might have a crack?
