The diode, is it for the hazard flasher system ?
Had mine go bad about a year ago, went to Radio Shack, and got a package of two for around $1, alot more cost efficient than BMW OEM parts !!

I had that give out on me a few months ago.
I bought a pack of 5 diodes for A$1 for the electronics store.
Took about 10 minutes to measure cut, clean and solder the new one in - just note the direction "band".
If you are in the mood for soldering probably a good opportunity to use the left over diodes to replace the other small diodes (thankfully all the same rating) on the bike such as the neutral light diode in the starter relay as they all seem to wear out about the same time.
good luck with it.

It was an OEM factory kit , only ones I've seen were on eBay .
I got mine about 4 years ago, for $35US plus $15 shipping from Germany, the seller is S. Meyer .
