Title: 'S' Cockpit fairing
Post by: ukzknos on May 24, 2009, 02:26:47 PM
Has anyone experience of fitting a cockpit S fairing?

According to Motorworks, who sell a nice replica, it won't fit a R65 without modification (but doesn't say what needs modifying!)

Well, a couple things come to mind.  The "S" bike had a larger diameter headlight and the turn signal stalks probably come off at a different location.  But, if you're determined, anything can be made to fit pretty much everything...

The difference  between the diametre of the r65 front light and the diametre of the s-fairing's opening can be overcome by cutting the tube from a wheelbarrow wheel like a doughnut and fit this doughnut over the frontlight. The rubber then fills out the void between the two rims.

Get hold of a couple of stalks for the turning lights and the rest of the fitting is a piece of cake.
